Where no human has gone before....
Ancient Egyptian, Mesopotamian and Native American mythologies tell us that we were created by beings that came from the stars, and that great souls might return to the stars after death. Myths, in fact, are full of references to the stars and to star beings.
...... but as far as we know, no human being has been to the stars....not yet.
Yet a little piece of our technology, the Voyager 1 explorer, has left our solar system, further than other man-made object, much further than anyone ever expected, and it's still going strong. Can you imagine it? Into completely new territory, and still faithfully sending messages back home. Don't you just want to hug it?
What will it tell us about the cosmos beyond our little spot on one arm of the great milky way? Who will see it out there and wonder what kind of creature created it and sent it on its way? I wonder.
And when I go to sleep at night, I get a little thrill just knowing that something of us is out there, still sending its messages and notifying whatever life forms exist deep in the cosmos that on a tiny planet far far away lives a species that reaches, child like and hopeful, for the stars.

"NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft exploring a new region in our solar system called the "magnetic highway." In this region, the sun's magnetic field lines are connected to interstellar magnetic field lines, allowing particles from inside the heliosphere to zip away and particles from interstellar space to zoom in.
