"...when at last we penetrate to its real meaning, we ..... discover with astonishment that an apparently quite senseless dream is in the highest degree significant, and that in reality it speaks only of important and serious matters" (Carl Jung).
SPIRITUAL DREAMING CIRCLE
Become a dreamworker
Starting 5 April, 2019.
Importance of Dreamwork
We all dream. Too few of us, however, make the effort to really understand our dreams, thereby denying ourselves access to our own deep wisdom.
We all "possess a personal source of insight and guidance that is timely, helpful, and extremely accurate," explains Kevin Todeschi, dream expert and CEO of the Edgar Cayce Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.).* "Ignoring the deeper substance of a meaningful dream is like deciding not to open a letter from a trusted and close personal friend ..... who only wants what is best for us."
However, as we all know, dreams do not usually speak in the language of our everyday world. They speak in symbols that can be difficult to understand. We may not be able to get to the real messages without the help of others. Even Carl Jung who helped hundreds of patients understand their dreams didn't try to do it alone. He used to tell his own dreams to an old neighbourhood farmer whose interpretations were always way off mark, but Jung said that somehow, the farmer's nonsense would inevitably trigger some crucial insight that enabled him to get to the real meanings.
Dream circles
Indigenous people often discussed their dreams with others, sitting immediately on waking together under the starlight or in early dawn to consider their meanings, for they understood the personal as well as social value of dreams. In modern times, we have dream circles, small groups of people who come together help each other to understand their dreams.
How it works
In dream circles, dreams are contemplated one at a time. While the whole group works with the dream, the individual dreamer is in charge of the process. The others respond in certain ways that help to encourage and support the dreamer's own intuitions, but the dreamer can respond or not, as he or she chooses.
This circle will be conducted online by email and a closed FB page. Expect to put in about 3 daylight hours and perhaps 1 or 2 nights dreaming a week, more if we are working on your dream.
In this online dream circle, as both supportive dreamworker and dreamer, you will learn the lost arts of incubating and recalling dreams, and interpreting their symbolism. Don't be surprised if you also find yourself becoming more intuitive and creative in the process.
New circle starts Friday April 5th, 2019
